The Frisbee, The Helmet and The Ball

It was such a lovely day today that we decided to have an early dinner and go for a cycle around the park afterwards. We got to Bushey at about 7 and went on a lovely ride in the lovely early evening sunshine.

I took some chocolate for the children and a sneaky bottle of Becks each for Chris and I. We sat on a fallen tree and had a little picnic! The children discovered I still had the frisbee in my basket so we started to play with it. It got a bit competitive and Betsy - who is the worst of us all - did an almighty throw and it landed high up in a tree. We threw various things into the tree to get it down, but nothing worked. I threw Chris bike helmet up and of course that got stuck too! We were quite hysterical with laughter by this time, and could barely cope when Chris threw up a tennis ball and that wedged in between two branches too! I wouldn't have thought that was even possible.

We were crying with laughter when a lovely couple came up to us, asking what was so funny, and saying it was so lovely to hear a family all laughing so loudly together. If course they got drawn into the challenge and stick after stick went wide of the mark as we tried to get our stuff down.

Eventually they left us to it, only to return ten minutes later, quite unable to give up! Eventually all three items made it to the ground, each one receiving a massive cheer.

We cycled home, still laughing.
