We were there! On the Mall.

A friend and I went up to London to see the procession of the Queens coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. We knew we would not get a front row view as we did not go that early however we wanted to go, experience the atmosphere and see the procession as it passed. I also didn’t want to take a step ladder or anything like some people!

I did not get any good photos of the procession but we did see it passing in the Mall and it was nice to hear the music and the cannons being fired too. So it was good to be there.

There were so many extra security and lots of police who were obviously not locals from London. We were given quite a bit of misinformation by some police officers but luckily knowing London we got where we wanted to go!
Green Park was closed by mid day as so many people there  so we did not see the flowers there but there were many in St James Park.

We got talking to three ladies who had come down from Morecombe just for the day. Amazingly when I got home I watched the whole thing on TV and saw a shot of the three ladies!

We walked over 12km so feeling  weary!
