West Wemyss harbour.
Julie came at nine to cut my hair and we chatted away as usual. She has just completed a marathon at Glencoe, part of it on the West Highland Way. Fortunately they went down the devil's staircase and not up but it was a lovely route, actually 28 miles and not 26. She is amazing. Had a lazy morning once she'd gone then went to Kirkcaldy in the afternoon to shop at Sainsbury's. I now have Marmite. Hooray ! Stocked up on oatcakes which I'd run out of and chocolate. Was pleased to get cartons of tomato juice. Nobody else seems to stock it or only the from concentrate stuff if they do. Afterwards I went along to West Wemyss for a walk and a photo. There used to be a double harbour when there were mines in the village and coal was shipped out. Now the inner harbour is filled in and grassed and today it, the car park and quite a lot of the surrounding area was cordoned off with police tape . The police were there investigating a motor home. I asked a couple of locals what was happening but they didn't know although one of them said the police had dropped their pie and were having a search for it. Met a couple walking along the shore path and spent ages chatting so not much photography got done. The harbour is full of boats now. When I lived there it was full of rubble and silted up. All the waste from the mines was tipped into the Forth and the beach which had been sand was black. Sand has gradually been reappearing over the years and the boat club is flourishing which is good to see.
