At Work on the Howe.
A nice sunny day but chilly. Did some clothes washing, tidying, a little bit of gardening and a lot of reading. Had a look at Helen's Myre to see if there was any fungi but there was nothing much so went to a favourite lay by and photographed the Howe.. This area in the centre of Fife was wet and marshy hundreds of years ago. James VI referred to Fife as a beggar's mantle fringed with gold, the gold being the coastal villages who fished and traded with Europe. In the 18th century with enclosure, drainage and new farming methods the centre of Fife began to flourish. too
