We are good at this sort of thing aren't we?

Ever since last Thursday the BBC has had almost unbroken coverage of our late queen. One of the problems with 24 hour news is the time has to be filled with something. If nothing is happening, "talking heads" are used telling us about their experiences or thoughts or reminiscences. All of these individually might have been interesting but cumulatively it becomes too much.
Having said that this afternoon I sat down and watched the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster, including the hour before it started watching all the troops getting prepared. The whole thing was magnificent, so well organised and executed. Even though there were so many people, and horses, involved nothing seemed to go wrong. A stunning spectacle, something we British seem to be able to do well.
It would be interesting to find out how many other countries saw this broadcast and what they thought of all the pageantry.
One other thought - I bet there are a lot of very proud mums tonight
