In the morning light the door didn’t look as impressive as yesterday. There were small gaps between some of the planks that I’d missed.

I had an early walk to Tesco for milk then at 8 o’clock drove to the garage for fuel. The car thermometer said 5°C.

An afternoon out with a neighbour was postponed when someone else was in more need of her time than me.

That meant the day was split between painting and, while the paint dried, gardening.
