Loughshore Park
Today we visited Jordanstown for the first time since we moved out.
It was an interesting experience. We wandered around our old walking routes and, at times, we both forgot that we didn't live there anymore!
We enjoyed coffee/hot chocolate at the cafe by the park and basked in the tranquility of the area. So calming!
We also looked through the window of my old flat. No one had moved into it but we noticed things had been moved around and the bathroom window had been opened. Clearly the cleaners had been in there. This is an indication that someone was about to move in. I've lived there for 4 years and they only cleaned the rooms when a new resident is soon to arrive!
Later on, we walked by the flat again to see that the bathroom window had been closed. Then we saw two people in the old roommate's room. We were under the impression that he was going to Alaska for a few weeks since he packed almost everything but left behind some stuff in the kitchen. Well, it's been just over a week. Surely he wasn't back already? We're starting to think that he actually did leave for good and now 2 new people have moved in. So I never left a roommate behind, despite that happening to me 8 times!!
We plan to come back to Jordanstown every other Saturday to help break up the weeks and also to escape the exhausting city. Well, Belfast is quite quiet compared to London, but it's busy enough for us! There's a lot of construction going on near where we used to live, so it'll be interesting to see how they develop.
It turns out there are retirement flats for those who are 60+ just down the road. You would think a road filled with partying students wouldn't be ideal for elderly people just looking to have a quiet rest!
It was a very good day!
