Camera Shy

Royal Colours.

As I walked Ginny around the allotment site I thought I would look out for some regal looking flowers to photograph as a small token to mark the Queen's funeral today.  Many people have found it a time to think of their own parents.  I am sorry that Mum hasn't been around to witness the Queen's passing, she missed it by about 10 months and was proud to have made it herself to 98 years.  I think she would have liked to have known how it all ended - I know that sounds funny.
The BBC has probably been in the position of being damned if you do, damned if you don't and never getting it right for everybody's taste but I think even Mum, who was a royalist,  would have said...."enough" ...it was too much.  Watched the funeral a little behind the actual time and skipped a few bits of the coffin being moved slowly around.  Some music and singing choices were joyous at the actual funeral and the complete "mess of flowers" on the coffin was lovely and helped to balance the stuffiness of some parts of the event.  I was out walking at the time of the funeral and it was beautifully quiet....just like the first lockdown....remember that?
