Queen Elizabeth II

Today's the day ........................... to bury a Monarch

There can be little doubt what today was the day for - in most people's lives?  Even the most fervent anti-monarchist could not help but notice that practically the whole country had set aside this day to honour, remember and finally lay to rest - our Queen.

And we do it so well too.  All that pomp and ceremony has taken hundreds of years to develop into the splendid spectacle that has been on our television screens for most of the day.  And incredibly, it has gone without a hitch, despite the fact that hundreds of people have had to be in the right place at the right time, doing their allotted tasks.  The Queen's funeral has been decades in the planning and that attention to detail was much in evidence today.

The trumperers above played their clarion call just before the two minute's silence began.  People from around the globe joined together in that silence - a very emotional and moving experience .......................
