Learning day by day

W and I spent the morning at the little soft play with the Mum of one of C's school friends and her three year old boy. The boys got on really well, which is lovely as they will be in the same class once they start school a year in September. I think D and I will be trying to make that play date happen again.

Swimming went well, froggy arms and legs. Although I have to say I am slightly at a loss as to why they have to do the legs on their back as well as their front? Carys's level does the same. W ate his lunch with very little messing so amazingly we headed for Music Train with plenty of time to spare.

We are doing Peter and the Wolf at the moment. Last week we were introduced to Peter and the violin. W loves the violin, always wants to play it at the end and can hold it properly and make a semi reasonable sound from it. This week the bird and the flute were introduced. Well W was just about the only kids who got a sound out of it. He would not stop, trying and trying and even when he did make a noise he knew it wasn't a proper note so he continued to try. His teacher was very impressed, she already thinks when he is 6 he should start the violin, but today she said "Maybe the violin has competition!" This boychild of mine could possibly become very expensive.

Picked up Carys from school to find out that she had won the Keystage 1 Photography Competition. They had to take photos with an Easter theme during the holidays. So here she is with her certificate and her winning photo, yes they are human size Easter Bunnies! All her own work I might add, but I did allow her to use my camera to take it. Two very chuffed ladies in this house tonight.
