River Trip

The children were tasked with a survey of birds along the river to Barton Broad but we got lucky!

The leaders assured us that visitors rarely get more than a distant glimpse of an otter. Ours swam along the bank with the boat midstream for several minutes .... magical.

Not my usual photo quality but a dark animal in water under a shady bank at midday in bright sunshine, shot from a moving boat .... it was mostly guesswork :) Lots of birds, butterflies and wildflowers but I can do those any sunny day. This is my first otter!
