A bright spot . . .

. . . on a dull day. 

Not only is it a dull day, but it's also a waterless day. The water went off during the night and won't be on again until at least 5pm. This is the third burst water main in 10 days! So it was an early visit to the supermarket to buy more bottled water, then a search for buckets to take water from the water butt to flush the loos. It's a good job I bought the butt earlier in the year, though it hasn't rained much and it's already half empty! Grrr!

Well it's the first time in nearly a couple of weeks that the front page of The Herald hasn't displayed a picture of the Queen, or some other aspect of Royalty. We're back to politics - and Liz Truss!

My Blip today is of Jasminum polyanthum, growing in a pot on the deck. It came through last winter without damage so I'm wondering if it will survive on the wall on a trellis. Very fragrant, but maybe a touch on the sickly side!
