The Wellington Suspension Bridge at Night
A grey late afternoon and early evening, almost misty.
I decided it would probably diffuse the light well when the sun went down.
So it was the ideal opportunity to make the promised revisit to the Chain Brig from an earlier blip
The Wellington Suspension Bridge (known locally as the Chain Brig) ?
was only the second bridge to cross the River Dee at Aberdeen. ?
Located between Ferryhill and Torry, ?
just upstream of the Queen Elizabeth Bridge ?
and a mile south of Aberdeen city centre. ?
It was built 1829-31 at a cost of £10,000 ?
to replace the Craiglug ferry.?
The Wellington Bridge is an A-listed Scheduled Ancient Monument
and is listed as Scotland's second oldest vehicle suspension bridge ?
remaining intact.
