Bloomin' Lovely
Pitlochry in Bloom hosted an afternoon tea this afternoon to thank volunteers from different groups who help look after the town's small gardens, flower baskets, paths as well as picking up litter.
It was nice to meet others in a social setting and there was a variety of tasty treats on offer including a beautifully decorated cake. A lovely way of saying thank you - I and others left feeling appreciated.
This morning saw a meeting of my u3a Gaelic Group and this evening the monthly Inner Wheel Meeting restart, a good mixture of business and social as they include supper. The speaker tonight is from 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence which will be interesting.
I could have also gone to a meeting at the Town Hall on Culture and Sport in Perth & Kinross but as much as a welcome the council's effort to consult with people it would have felt as if I was rushing from one thing to another (as opposed to cake-induced sugar rushes :-) ) - I am gradually learning the importance of pacing yourself in retirement!
The answer to my quiz question yesterday was indeed Scotland as some of you guessed. You can read more about it here.
