FLOWER FRIDAY - AND MORE!

Whilst wandering around the garden this morning looking for something to Blip for Flower Friday, I was amazed at how far up the stem of one our Helianthus plants, this little snail had crawled - see small photograph in my collage.  There were two snails, and I have to say they went for a flying visit to the Council grass outside our fence!

However, I didn’t want it to be the main shot, so have chosen some of our beautiful Hollyhocks, grown from seed by Mr. HCB, in amongst some other Helianthus in a different bed.

There was quite an autumnal feel today and quite a breeze, so the washing is blowing well on the line.  However, there are still lots of flowers blooming - see my extra collage.

The Chrysanthemums are doing well and looking good, despite the earlier drought and there are still plenty of passion flowers blooming.  The beautiful roses are bowed down by the raindrops, but still looking good and we also have Dahlias and Leucanthemum daisies and of course, we are keeping a careful eye on our apples.  Mr. HCB has brought one of them in, as it is going a bit soft on the top, but I’m sure we will enjoy it later today, but there are still three left on the tree, hopefully to be eaten before we go away.

Mr. HCB’s four day cricket match - the last of the season - was over yesterday, so he is enjoying some pottering time in the garden - although the sun is shining, I don’t think we will be sitting out for too long as there is also a nip in the air - he certainly won’t be sitting, even in the shade!

Have a great weekend, but you may well need warm clothing!

     'Oh, how beautiful!'
