Visiting famous people in the sunshine

BACKBLIP
We have been to Pere Lachaise several times before but it is so interesting another trip was called for.
We targeted the superstars, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Heloise and Abelard, Isadora Duncan and Jim Morrison. On the way we stumbled over other tombs of interesting people I have never heard of. The gentleman on the left of the blip, with a red flower in his button hole is Andre Gill, a French caricaturist. We also found Yılmaz Güney, a Kurdish film director who upset the Turkish government, Pierre Dac, a French comedian and Victor Noir, a journalist whose grave has led to an interesting belief amongst young ladies in France.
A Blip centred memorial has the inscription La Memoire Necropolitaine and is an open mausoleum housing a large black camera. There was no other inscriptions but there was a QR code on the side of the tomb. Once I got back home I did some investigating and found out that it celebrated what I had been doing all morning, full details  here

Oscar Wildes tomb is now surrounded by a glass screen to prevent people kissing the stone and leaving lipstick behind. A notice on the screen explains this and also points out that his family is responsible for cleaning the tomb, a bit steep after 122 years especially as his wife and kids disowned him while he was still in Reading Goal.
It might seem morbid wandering round a graveyard but it is a fascinating place with lots of stories and photo opportunities
