Something different

This afternoon there was a talk in the library  entitled  ‘Fig Leaves to Feather Boas’  describing the evolution of fashion and costume from pre-historic times up to modern day. It was very interesting and, at times, amusing. The speaker used PowerPoint to show some excellent illustrations and also had some actual examples of garments which we could examine for ourselves. I particularly liked this hat (though I never wear one) which was obviously most suited to this season of the year.
