Bridge over the River Wissey
This bridge used to carry the A10 over the River Wissey at Hilgay, Norfolk. The village is now bypassed. I love the glimpse of the river as I drive over it on my way home from church, but cannot stop because of the yellow lines. So today I went 20 minutes early so that I could park the car and walk down to the river before the service. The view to the left of the bridge shows the bypass just a short distance away while to the right the river flows from the fens where it passes near the Wissington Sugar Beet factory which will soon be firing up to deal with this year’s crop. The river eventually joins the River Great Ouse and enters the Wash at Kings Lynn.
A beautiful sunny morning, but only about 12C!
