Laurel & Hardy

Meet the comedic team of Stan “the squirrel” Laurel and Oliver “the blackbird” Hardy. You can almost hear the dialogue between them. Ollie knows he can’t reach the place he wants to get to so he convinces Stan it’s up to him to do it. Of course Stan obliges by immediately jumping on top of Ollie but in his desire to achieve their shared goal he doesn’t realize what’s happening to Ollie below!

O - Go on, get yourself up there!
S - Hold steady, Ollie, I think I can reach it.
O - Get going, Stanley, we don’t have all day!
S - I’m trying Ollie, I’m trying, but I don’t want to fall!
O - Hang on to something then, you Idiot! ( As Stan reaches down)
O - No, not my face, you, stop, you’re on…hmphfhmph (Ollie mumbling)

It seemed a perfect scene for a Silly Saturday. I never knew Admirer but I’m pretty sure she would have found these two quite amusing :) • As expected it was a blustery day but no complaints because it could have been so much worse. Among other outdoor chores, we pulled up pepper plants and said goodbye to the cucamelon. At least until next year. I feel so sad! I thanked them for all of their tasty gifts throughout the summer • MrsP and I were shocked to find a lone Monarch battling the winds today. Thankfully we still have mums, zinnias, some scarlet runner bean flowers and marigolds to offer this butterfly and the few bees still buzzing around • Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
