I have mentioned my friend Ian/E in these pages before. He's one of the friends I made on a project at JP Morgan in Glasgow in 2000. We bonded over our love of music and, happily, we have remained friends ever since. He - or, rather, his business - was even a client of mine for a while. 

We meet up in Manchester once in a while for lunch and an afternoon of drinking although today was slightly different as we went out in Salford and not until five o'clock.

I'd planned a walk around Peel Park and the Meadow, followed by a short pub crawl, finishing up in Porta but the weather was not our friend on this occasion, so in the end we had a glass of wine and a natter with the Minx and then headed straight to Porta, where we ate, chatted, and had a couple more drinks. Hannah even joined us for a while, which was lovely: I'm always interested to see which of my friends my kids take a shine to.

Given the weather and the fact I was busy enjoying Ian's company, I didn't get around to taking a photo today, so here's an emergency blip from when I arrived back home.
