At the Supermarket
I was at the supermarket buying some supplies for a picnic tomorrow for when we go to the Belgian under 13's National Rugby finals - unfortunately my son's arm is still in a sling so he can't play but he wants to go along anyway to lend moral support to his teammates. I still feel desperately sorry for him as he was so looking forward to playing. I will just have to wait now until he plays for Wales; he's still a little young for the next World cup in England but for the one in 2018 who knows!
Anyway, there I was in the supermarket car park thinking that I hadn't taken a portrait for a while so I decided that I would ask the next person who I saw, and here he is!
I haven't got a problem with asking people to take a portrait of them as in my experience more often than not I have found that people are flattered if you ask them and normally say yes. My problem is asking them in French or Flemish because I end up sounding like a gibbering fool and they feel pity for me and agree!
I didn't even have time to ask his name as his wife was waiting in the getaway car, removing her balaclava and revving the engine. In all honesty I've never seen a Nissan Micra go so fast round a corner whilst on 2 wheels with three security guards hanging off it!
The things you see at the supermarket on a Friday afternoon!
Enjoy your weekends wherever you are!
(Disclaimer: if you know the man in my portrait, none of the above is true, he was very friendly)
