The Wairau Lagoons…

This area of wetlands and tidal flats is part of the Wairau Lagoons area several kilometers to the east from Blenheim. There are several walking/cycling tracks and boardwalks around the periphery. A popular circular route is out to the rusted remains of a vessel called the SS Waverley. Margaret, Maisie and I walked the circular route today, a distance of over 8 kilometers. Maisie raced around everywhere getting very muddy feet at times. This image is looking towards the northeast and the Wairau River Bar and further away Richmond Range.
