On The Snail Trail

I felt like clearing my head a bit today so I decided to head back to Teston Bridge County Park for some fresh air and a leisurely stroll.
It was quite cloudy and you could just begin to feel the start of an autumnal chill in the air. I had only walked a few yards when I spotted this wooden mollusc next to the path. I don't know how I managed to miss him the last time I was here but here he is in shadowy profile looking out across the expanse of the meadow that makes up part of the park.
I walked a few yards further along the path and found that there was yet another wooden creature - a dragonfly (see my first extra). I was going to make this my main image but I couldn't think of anything that rhymed with dragonfly for a title! :-) I hadn't seen this creature on any of my previous walks here either - what poor observation skills!
I continued my walk down to the river and past the lock before I headed back home. For my second extra I thought I would try to get a shot using an unusual angle so this view is looking through one of the lock gates across to a characterful cottage on the opposite bank of the river.
A thoroughly enjoyable perambulation!
