Bourbon tasting


Tonight was a trip to the whisky society for a bourbon and bourbon casked whisky tasting.

Not many turned out for the night, which was very interesting with some great Bourbons to try and then 3 whiskies from a first fill Bourbon cask.

Never realised that to be called bourbon it must be made from 51% corn. You can then make up the rest with whatever grain you like. Using more rye tends to give a more spicy finish where as wheat is sweeter.

Looks like another vain of alcohol to get to know
