Great Gateway
We walked out to a local restaurant this evening, past the formal entrance to the University of Western Australia. On our return, the buildings were nicely illuminated. Built in the early 1930s, they are the focus of the University’s ceremonial life. Some information about the architecture is in this webpage.
Earlier in the day we met, in Kings Park & Botanic Gardens, some old friends we first knew over 50 years ago. They now live about 500 km from us in eastern Australia, but we just happen to all be visiting Perth right now. We saw many striking flowers in the Park. Especially notable (extra) was Black Kangaroo Paw, Macropidia fuliginosa.
