Green man is for lets go drink
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat a day. Decided to catch the early train into Manchester, which, as it turns out, doesn't get you there that early - 12ish. Had a ganders about the city, a lovely coffee in the Norther Quarter, as recommended by my manchunian mate Millie, and then met up with Sam, who took me on a wee tour and before having a sunny pint on a roof terrace.
We'd been invited to conduct some market research, get paid £10 to taste some beer and fill out some forms. Great, I thought, get paid to drink beer! So we headed to Sam's house, which is itself 3 miles out of town in the studenty bit, and then on towards the airport to a hotel that was clearly cheap to rent function rooms in.
By this time it was 5, and Tom was getting into the station at 5:30, so I asked how long it would take - 45 mins. So I cut and run, and spent the next 30 mins on a bus back into town, by way of the hotel bar that did pints for £1.50.
Met up with Tom, and we headed back to the North Quarter to get sloppy burgers (amazing) and drink a few beverages before heading to the CHVRCHES gig at 8. Sam and Phoebe met us at the second bar, and we managed to persuade Sam to come to the gig with us.
Annoyingly we missed the support, Young Fathers, but the gig was good. Then went to a bar to drink a bit before heading out clubbing. Unfortunately couldn't persuade Sam out with us for that part.
This is the rather nice Manchester town hall.
