Still looking good

A lovely warm autumn day …. according to the gauge in my car it was 17° outside whenI started my walk this morning.

Coffee purchased I headed to the walled garden hoping that I might see a couple of butterflies. As I walked into the garden I could see that there was a lady focusing her camera on the Michaelmas Daisies. Very quickly a Red Admiral was pointed out but I have such rotten long sight that I have to find the image myself using my camera as binoculars.

After a quick snap of the Red Admiral I moved over the the very bedraggled Ox-eye daisies and there I spotted the Small Tortoiseshell. No Peacocks today…..if there were any they were keeping well away from me.
