Findhorn and icecream

We did not expect to be sitting outside in the sunshine eating icecream but the sun came out and it was lovely and warm.
We left home at nine and stopped off in Forres to see the exhibition ‘ unexpected Gardens : in pictures ‘ .The photos were taken by Alexander Williamson. The photos are of growers in the Local community who spent a year sowing, growing and sharing from tiny gardens in lanes to big greenhouses.
On to Findhorn where we had a tasty lunch, I had salmon and Mike had scampi.
The sun had come out so we had a nice walk along the front , stopping for icecream and then along the beach.Big waves were crashing in and lots of tree roots had been washed up.
Back along the calmer side where seals were bopping about and one of the large yachts was being brought in.
We went to Lossie and booked into our hotel, the links lodge, that had fine views across the golf course to Covesea lighthouse.
After a rest we just needed something to eat so shared a battered sausage and chips.
The evening was spent at the Universal Hall, the Park in Findhorn.A great building with impressive woodwork and stained glass.
We were there to see Karine Polwart a folk singer and Dave Milligan. A ‘renowned jazz/folk pianist. Really good .
Back to our hotel in the dark and was delighted to see a barn owl sitting on a post :)
