Friday yay!

Therapy catch up,
chicken club lunch, torrential 
rain and no coat, whoops!

Felt like a 'busy but not achieving anything' day today.  Rushed to butchers after dropping Ben at school and then back for a Teams call with Ben's play therapist to review last year's progress and set targets for this year.  She often has an interesting perspective on his behaviour, so it was useful.  She was saying that although he is verbalising that he's finding it hard in the car after sessions, the fact that he is flagging it and then working through it without meltdowns is massive progress from how he was a few years ago when any anxiety in the car led to violent disruption.  It's hard to see the progress sometimes when you're 'in it'.
Sorted out some shopping and popped out for a lovely lunch with Mr KCNQ2Haiku, it was busy today and very rainy but we enjoyed being out and about.  It's our only way to get time to ourselves outside of the house and be more than just 'Ben's parents', so our Friday lunches are special.  Our topics of conversation covered agreeing to buy some new glasses (spectacles!) and where you would live if you could live anywhere.  It kept us amused.
Fetched Ben, I forgot his coat today so I had felt guilty that he would have been soggy but he was OK, they had stayed in all day.  His bloods have been high this afternoon, I think he must have knocked his insulin pump, it was a little pink and weepy so I changed it when we got home but he was grumpy.  Grumpy about not being able to eat what he wanted until we had brought his glucose level down, grumpy about the pump change, grumpy that he couldn't really go on the trampoline in the weather, grumpy that I asked him to wear socks.  Just generally in a grump.  In one of his cross moments he decided he was going to do his own finger prick to check his bloods, this usually ends badly as the dyspraxia makes him quiet un-dextrous but he was really focused and did it all himself, so despite all the grump that was a positive today (and that is my photo snap).
