My helper this morning. Every time I left a cupboard door open for longer than a minute, Peaches was checking it out. One of the kitchen cupboards opens into a china cabinet type of display in the living room. I put some wine glasses in there as well as some vases and glass serving dishes. I had turned to unwrap a few more things, when I turned back Peaches was sitting in the cupboard.
I am so glad to be away from the old landlord. He was on my case today about everything. He even tried to pull Steph into it. He kept staring at her too, he did that another day too. She was getting creeped out by it. I ended up calling him an a**h*** to his face. We cleaned up everything that I wanted, dug a few more plants out of the ground and left. I would have taken a few more plants, but I just wanted to get out of there.
I will be calling the tenancy board on Monday to find out what I have to do to get my damage deposit back. There was no damage to the place, other than normal wear and tear from living there for over 11 years with a landlord who did no interior maintenance. He knew there was a problem with mold in the bathroom, he painted over it once, supposedly with a paint that prevents mold. There are hardwood floors in the house, they really needed to be refinished when I moved in, but that never got done. Now they are in worse shape, so he will blame it on me.
I have started to think that the man is bipolar. He can be really nice one day and angry and threatening the next day. When he started in on me this morning I told him I would walk away right then, he said he would follow me and then send a truck over to dump all my stuff off.
He had told Alan that he had it rented out to a friend of his for Nov 1, but he was showing the place today to a prospective tenant. I stayed away from them, but I was so tempted to walk by and mutter about how he kept trying to threaten and intimidate me. If it had been a woman, I would have.
Anyways, I have a bigger and better place, and no landlord to spy on every move that I make.
