Today's the day ......................... for an elderfest

We've had a bit of a social gathering here today, to celebrate all things to do with the elder tree - or, as we like to call it - an Elderfest..

Friends and neighbours came round this afternoon to drink elderflower and elderberry wine or elderflower cordial, try some elderflower bread - and eat lots of cake.  And, fortunately, the weather was good enough to allow everyone to sit outside in the garden.  

It was a most pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon ......................
