Esbern Snare is one of only two built so far in their class and are the largest vessels in the Danish Navy. She is part of the first stage of a strategic realignment within the Royal Danish Navy, which is transitioning to focus on international operations, in which Absalon-class vessels will form the backbone. The ship has a large Ro-Ro deck and is designed for command, support and anti-submarine roles. Definitely the largest Danish naval vessel to visit Falmouth.

Having found myself ‘blowing’ after the walk uphill from town I decided to take it easy, having felt increasingly ‘rough’ over the last couple of days I decided that aside from short walking Paddy in mid afternoon a book and the settee would be the limit of my exertions.
