47k ultra run.
On a whim I decided to run round Mt Rundle on the trails as I met someone mental enough to do it with me. It was great, but very tough. The first 22k was uphill in the trails, very tight, single track with logs to jump and roots to dodge. Then from the nordic centre for 10k we ran through a mountain pass (photo).
Then we descended on the goat creek trail which to our misfortune was covered in snow. The parts that werent (the rest) was sticky mud and made for tough work. We ran the marathon distance in 4 hours, baring in mind that included over 4200ft and then ran a bit more technically making it an Ultra marathon. Anyhow am already recovering pretty well and feel pretty good!! That ll be the last big run before the marathon in 3 weeks! Last day of the season snowboarding tomorrow!!! Cant wait!!
