His paper looked like the Toronto Star.  The lead story concerned an adulterous woman who was pardoned and released.  Apparently the authorities had arrested her and brought her to Jesus to authorize the required stoning.  Jesus said that those of you who have not sinned should cast the first stone; apparently none felt qualified so the teacher said, go and sin no more.  Iranian morality police might be well served to also exercise some grace in their judgments.
