Besmé a village North of Paris
The rabbit was near the van at 7.30, nibbling the greenery, every now and again sitting up to listen. We had some stale baguette and threw out a few slices.
An odd day with several things not going to plan although not disastrous however
the most annoying part was knocking a bottle of red wine off a shelf in the supermarket with my small rucksack making a horrible mess on the floor. That was ok in a way, nobody came hurtling towards me shouting, thankfully. I had spotted some wine on the bottom of a trouser leg and shoe and for some daft reason brushed it off with my right hand, leaving several tiny shards of glass in two fingers. I have ousted two although think I can feel another. The various magnifying items are not showing it.
A grim young person was coming my way, I pointed out the issue, the person disappeared and returned to carry on putting out the baguettes on display. I couldn’t leave in case a child appeared, anyway the grim looking person arrived again with a bucket and I left. John then appeared, said very little, and we carried on shopping, it really was one of those days. I did wonder if the person was suffering from the morning after the night before.
Wet all day until this evening, we are now on the west side of northern France about 100 miles south of Calais. When parking up on a farm for the night the cloud cleared and a sunny evening for our walk. Near the van in a pen are 2 small goats, 2 small pigs, 2 normal sized turkeys and a few chickens, also a small horse. We have seen a few lambs and believe it to be a chicken farm.
