Wicklow encounter

We had another of our come-to-tea sessions with Carl's mum's friend Renate this afternoon. She lives in 'the wilds of Wicklow', near Manor Kilbride. Her place is blessed with fabulous views of the Wicklow landscape and we always enjoy the show put on by the birds at the feeder that hangs from one of her apple trees. She certainly knows her stuff when it comes to bird feed.

She's a real character and a non-stop talker. My grand plan had been to make a cake to bring along but it was a disaster so I had to resort to not-so-great shop-bought instead. It's always a bit problematic to judge the right moment for got-to-go noises, but we bit thew bullet after a very enjoyable few hours.
