Gran Canaria – Day 1
A quiet start to the day, then out for lunch at the really excellent pool-side restaurant in the nearby Gold hotel. Such great value for money, in wonderful surroundings. Gold is a place we’ve enjoyed stopping off at over the years, and today saw it at its best. Carl certainly liked the sunken area on the way back to the reception area. It’s great to be able to walk in off the street, no questions asked, walk on through to the fabulous swimming pool, especially on a nice day like today.
Gold is very close to our most convenient supermarket, so we did a bit of stocking-up shopping there and then returned to the bungalow for a siesta before venturing back out for our evening meal. We went to Peater’s restaurant, a German-style place which is recently opened where Parrots used to be, which it where we intended to eat. Afterwards we stopped at one of the many bars in the Yumbo Centre for a cocktail and were back home at a very respectable hour.
The bare bones of this descriptive may not seem very exciting, but it was actually a really good day which we thoroughly enjoyed.
