Kachess

Yes, I know there's a tree in the middle of the view, but if I'd leaned any farther to eliminate it I'd have risked my own limbs. We took a Sunday outing over the mountains with Mom and Dave, driving a few miles off I-90 to Lake Kachess. This is the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The lovely-looking campground closed the first of October but we took a nice short walk through it, relaxed by Gale Creek (extra) and admired the turning vine maples.

Then on to Cle Elum for a delicious Italian dinner, and back west over the pass (Snoqualmie) following the half moon, bumper-to-bumper with all the folks who'd spent the weekend in eastern WA. A bit harrowing!
