journey

I had a day out today, taking the train to Carlisle and then on to Langwathby. The sun was shining and I was in holiday mood. With only Mumford and Sons as companions, I walked a couple of miles up the road to the Little Salkeld Mill, where I had a very happy lunch overlooking the mill race. Then another mile uphill to see Long Meg and her Daughters (over 50 of them). It was my first ever visit to this Bronze Age stone circle and I wasn't disappointed. It's huge and the situation is perfect, with lovely views of the Pennines and Lake District hills. Home now... :-)
