Pity it's not Thursday.

Number twelve in the series captured while out getting some practice in for next Saturday's 35 mile bike/walk along the length of the Montgomery Canal.

I am cycling 13.5 miles from Newtown to Welshpool and then instead of getting on the water and canoeing the next 11 miles to Llanymynech, I am going to cycle a bit extra and go through some of the villages along the way.

Then I will be joined by Mrs DD and Gwyn Evans to walk the last 10.5 miles to Welsh Frankton, where the Monty joins the Llangollen canal.

The reward, if we all finish in time, is a small liquid refreshment at the Queens Head before receiving ours certificate and small medal to mark the occasion.

We are once again trying to raise funds for School Mission in Zambia and if anyone feels the urge to donate, go to www.give.net/schoolmission to do so on-line.

If it had been Thursday today I would have been tempted into the Fish & Chips but as it's not then I will resist.

Will power!!!
