68 years ago today, Nazi Germany surrendered and 5 years of occupation was over. The way people mark the day today is by lighting candles in the windows as a symbol of the moment where people could tear down the dark curtains, they had put up so bomber planes couldn't see the lights from the windows, when flying over the city.
We've litten the candles. So have 2 more in our street...
