The Sun is Setting in the Sky...

Quite a nice sunset this evening. This shot was taken from one of our front bedroom windows at about 2020 BST. The sun has gone down just about enough behind the trees and houses opposite for me to risk pointing directly towards the sun so as to capture the illuminated clouds.

The interesting point about this photograph is that the sun's direction is now well north of due west. During the winter, the sun was setting far to the south of this direction (it would have been out-of-shot greatly to the left of the lamp-post.

I'm afraid it's only a few short weeks now until midsummer, when the sun will have moved as far north as it goes, and then the trajectory will move ever left (south) until the cycle starts again around Christmas. Thus is the science of the Four Seasons!
