Lichen …

….. covering a large area of rock.
I’m wondering how old this area of lichen is, as apparently it grows very slowly. So it may be hundreds of years old!

Missy & I went walking this afternoon and discovered this area as we were nearly back at the car. All the snow that fell last week has very nearly gone; only a little remains on the tops.
