Harvest

We had our all ages service for Harvest today. It was combined with a baptism of one of our church family so it was a very  nice occasion.

You can see two of the window displays in the top pictures. Gone are the days of pretty fruits and vegetables which looked nice but couldn’t be guaranteed to be used before perishing. The gifts people brought were tins and packets in carrier bags not fancy baskets. It makes more sense to,supply non perishable items that can go to local food banks.

On my way home I passed this display of huge pumpkins in a neighbours porch. Never seen any so big and I don’t remember them having a similar display before although they are always first up with their Christmas tree in the same porch.

Another fine day, stripped the bed and we have now put the winter duvet on. Got soft in those warm hotel bedrooms last week!
