Kowhai

Pronounced core-fie.

This is a NZ native delicacy for wax-eyes, bellbirds and bees. My two mature kowhai trees are always full of activity at this time of year. I have planted a couple of dozen more which will flower in three or four years, at which time I hope to host even more birds and bees.
