Sailing

As I now have a couple of nights off before the play resumes, we decided to make the most of the nice weather and go out to Windermere. The plan was to use our National Trust membership and park at Fell Foot, before exploring that area. Unfortunately, neither of us had brought our up to date NT membership cards with us so has to abandon that idea - weren’t prepared to pay £6 for what would have been only about an hours stay.
So we headed up to Bowness where we managed to park in one of the two hours slots around the Glebe. Plenty of time for a pleasant stroll up to and around the steamer piers. I snapped the Swan as she came in from Ambleside before heading out to Lakeside shortly after.
But the biggest treat tonight was cooking a proper meal, eating it a sensible time and then settling down in front of the telly, rather than microwaving something at 5pm, bolting it down and then dashing off to the theatre.
Now I know why actors call it “resting” between performances.
