We arrived here around 19 hours ago just before midnight after a straightforward flight and then minibus trip through the Cantabria mountains via a series of long tunnels. It rained heavily as we drove, expected to clear by the morning. Two excellent guides and eight congenial travelling companions who seem as content as I to talk about wolves, pine marten and wild cats forever.
