ACORNS
These TINY acorns are from the
COAST LIVE OAK TREE, a native of
California. The leaves look more like a Holly Tree than other varieties of Oak Trees.
The ACORNS also look very different.
I’ve previously posted the huge centuries old sentinel trees that are protected by the state. There are few left & I’ve always wondered why they are not planted in parks & residential gardens. Maybe because they are slow growing, considered to be “messy,”
or because they are very expensive.
This tree was planted by my neighborhood, along the walking path. It is about 20 years old & managing the drought quite well.
Someday it will be huge.
