Train journey to Charleroi

I visited the Photo museum in Charleroi which held an exhibition of Lisette Model. Charleroi was once a rich industrial town with coal mines and steel factories. allas after the sixties the environment , the city slowly got drowned in poverty. Still there are metal factories ( Mital) . The city and its neigbourhoods are ugly , old neglected worker s houses and lot s of unemployement. Still the city has it s beauty. More over people are verry friendly .
Last years there have been major upgrades to the city and i must say it works out , but it is a slow proces.
After visiting the museum i took a quite long walk through the neigbourhoods and outskirts of Charleroi, which is sometimes more interresting.
