What a spectacular sight

We think this is a female Kestral but looking at the bird books makes it more difficult to identify than you think. Perhaps you can help.

We were on one of our regular walks, again around the golf course, when we saw a bird of prey in the air and became aware of a short, harsh call in a nearby tree and spotted this bird in a hollow of the tree.

The zoom of this camera is very good and this was then cropped to produce this image. The highlight of the walk.
